Position Summary:
F&L Doors is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Garage Door Sales Representative Apprentice. This structured, hands-on program is designed to develop the next generation of sales professionals by first building strong technical knowledge in the field, followed by guided sales training.
This approximately 12-month program provides a clear path into a full-time Garage Door Sales Representative role with salary and commission opportunities.

Position Type:
- Full-Time | First Shift (Daytime Hours)

Training Program Overview:
- Phase 1 (0–6 months): Full-time Installer – Pay based on experience. Learn garage door systems, installation methods, troubleshooting, and product knowledge.
- Phase 2 (6–9 months): Blended Role – Installation and sales shadowing. Observe customer consultations, quoting, and sales processes. Expected to be with sales 2–3 days per week.
- Phase 3 (9–12 months): Sales Emphasis – Increased involvement in customer consultations, proposal preparation, and ordering. Installing 1–2 days per week, with the remainder spent with sales based on progression.
- Phase 4 (Post 12 months): Full-time Sales Representative – Base salary plus commission based on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Learn garage door products, installation, and customer applications
- Assist with installations and jobsite work
- Shadow experienced sales representatives and learn the sales process
- Participate in customer consultations and proposal preparation
- Build relationships with homeowners, builders, and contractors
- Participate in sales events, including:
- Trade shows
- Fairs
- Contractor events
- Promotional events
- Open building displays and sales days
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Interest in building a long-term career in sales
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Mechanically inclined preferred, but not required
- Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities:
- Perform field inspections to verify job completion for installers as requested by the scheduling department
- Support installers and service technicians throughout the workday as needed
- Conduct field checks related to product damage or manufacturing deficiencies
- Assist the sales department in reviewing product pricing and ensuring price list accuracy
- Support the introduction of new products into the sales portfolio
- Prepare accurate job estimates
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Collect payments and ensure timely account resolution
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction and/or garage door industry (preferred)
- Proven sales experience with strong customer service skills

- Install and retrofit commercial doors in various types of buildings, including new installations and updates to existing structures
- Perform rolling steel installation
- Install and service commercial operators (LiftMaster, Raynor, Cornell)
- Perform welding and electrical work as required during installations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with door systems and related components
- Work independently and efficiently, ensuring work is completed on time and to specification
- Provide excellent customer service and communication with clients
- Adhere to safety protocols and company standards
- Willingness to travel to job sites and between three office locations (Hazleton, Schuylkill Haven, and New Tripoli)
Qualifications:
